The objective of this conceptual project was to rebrand and design a wine label for an existing vineyard, better understand a niche market and highly competitive market, better understand the use of glass, paper, sizes, and print limitations, gain experience working with outside vendors and design informative yet successfully be able to communicate clear front and back panel information.

Tucked away in the hills of Sunol is Elliston Vineyards. The property – with its historic stone mansion, lush grounds, and secluded Terrace Room offers a unique and picturesque atmosphere that is sure to provide an enjoyable and memorable experience for any occasion. Their Extraordinary hand-crafted wines have been a long-standing tradition at Elliston Vineyards, reaching back more than 125 years. As a purveyor of premium wines, their mission has always been to provide excellent, unique, and ready-to-drink wines with flavor and approachable pricing.

I chose Elliston Vineyards because I wanted to embrace its history and heritage through its wine label which does justice to its amazing wine! With their new label redesign, I took inspiration from their historic stone mansion and brought in design elements that showcase their boutique handcrafted wine. The typefaces used are inspired by the 1800s typography style which ties it to the year the Elliston mansion was built.
