The main task of this project was to create a promotional package of different kinds of artisanal pastas (spaghetti) for an Italian family owned trading company just entering a new market with opening a store. The request was a clean design packaging solution which was stylish, modern and which would represent the high quality level of the products and of the company as well. It was about to reflect the feeling of 80s Italy, when the company had been established.
The idea was exciting, timing was just right, because experimenting with geometrical elements, vibrant colours fit easily to the trends of today, especially in the centenary of Bauhaus. An additional aim was to promote some of the most famous Italian monuments, in this case the Colosseum of Rome. The brand name Ramo is coming from interchanging the vowels of Roma, meaning also “a branch of a family” in Italian.
