Tesori d’Oriente is a well-known Italian brand of mass market beauty care products, which is highly appreciated for its Orient-inspired fragrances.
While on the market since almost 20 years with numerous product ranges and a wide base of loyal customers, Tesori d’Oriente’s new lines lacked the strength needed to reach a new audience.
Asterisco*lab was asked to redesign the visual of one of its best sellers, Tesori d’Oriente Hammam, clearly inspired by the oriental rituals of Hammam, and to give it a sophisticated yet contemporary look. Preciousness was the key word for the new visual identity. The aim was to give the product more visibility on shelf, to attract new customers without disappointing the current ones.
We took inspiration, both for the decoration and the colours, from Arabic copper plates and lanterns, which recall a very refined and intriguing mood.
So the graphic is based on the contrast between a very dark, opaque black and shiny copper, which defines the original decoration. The latter was meant to be a little more floral then classic Arabic decorations, in order to underline the importance of the fragrance of which the main ingredient is orange blossom. Argan oil is also used, so we needed to further underline the premium quality of the product.
The complete range includes bath cream, shower oil, eau de toilette, body cream and scrub.
Labels are printed on a shiny metallic film and we used a bold transparent shiny relief on the decoration, in order to create a shiny, shimmering look and a tactile effect.
